Pokemon Red/Blue (GB – 1996)

Developed by Game Freak and created by Satoshi Tajiri for the Nintendo Game Boy, Pokemon Red and Blue are the original installments of the popular series (with an enhanced version called Pokemon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition released later in 1998). Ken Sugimori, Atsuko Nishida, and several other artists created the designs for the original 151 Pokemon and the idea itself was said to come from Satoshi’s love of collecting insects.
